BLURRED VISION

Have you ever played a game requiring the use of a blindfold?  Or maybe you have experienced blindness?  You have support that helps you get a feel for the lay of the land;  family, friends, mentors/teachers, even a walking stick.  You place a lot of faith in that support to be your eyes!  Faith in God can be paralleled with learning to trust the one leading you / helping you through this journey called life!

Coming around the bend on a winding interstate road, a picture of trust suddenly came to life in my blurred vision.  The road signs indicating the sharp curve had blurred, but the picture in my mind’s eye was clear.  I was a passenger in the hands of the driver taking this turn at 75 miles an hour.  I had total faith in my husband’s driving skills and the vehicle’s design and reliability that I was going to come through this g-force turn safely and without even a blink of an eye!  It was true.  I didn’t flinch or question.  Then, my mind began to contemplate if I trusted God as much?  I quickly realized I did not.  A list as long as my arm flooded my thoughts of how much I held to my own ideas, skills, and abilities to handle life when so many times the challenges of life were opportunities to trust Him; I want to give Him the opportunity to show off for me!  But I didn’t.  Deep conviction, for sure.  I prayed right then in the car “Lord help me in my unbelief.  I want to grow to trust only in You.  And help me to get out of the way so You are center stage, always … everyday!”

Trusting God, having faith in Him to lead you in the way you should go, or to make the best decisions, is all about where you have placed your faith and which voice you are listening to.  Faith is that inner hearing of your heart, an intuitive vision of your soul, to believe in what you cannot see, feel, or hear.  It’s the act of yielding to the presence of the Holy Spirit!

It is my prayer that you will choose to trust the Lord to help you in your unbelief and to grow to trust only in Him.

Joyfully Healing from the Inside Out,
