BE STILL

Have you ever wondered what the voice of God sounds like?  Have you stopped to listen to the sounds around you?  I believe that I miss a lot of what God is saying to me because I am busy or distracted.  When I am still and quiet, not distracted, relaxed, and seeking to be near to God, I capture whispers of His presence in remarkable treasures.  Do you hear the voice of God in the wind?

“Be still and know I AM God.”  – Psalm 46:10

* * * * *

I hear a whisper from the conch shell.

I hear the restlessness of a coming storm.

I hear the crash of ocean waves.

Gentle.  Strong.

Do you hear the wind?

* * *

I hear a whistle through my lips.

I hear laughter from deep within my chest.

I hear the calm breathing of one close to me.

Expressive; life defined.

Do you hear the wind?

* * *

I hear the clapping applause of the flags.

I hear the joyful melody of the chimes.

I hear the festive whizzing of the bicycle.

Subtly rhythmic; comforting.

Do you hear the wind?

* * *

The cool autumn fog lies silently.

The freezing winter snow whispers softly.

The warm spring rain pitter-patters playfully.

Purposefully articulate; predictably anticipated.

Do you hear the voice of the wind?

* * *

No confusion.

Undeniably peaceful.

Merciful and gracious.

A breathtaking crescendo of awakening!

Do you hear?

* * *

“Be still and know I Am God”

Says the author of peace.

Do you hear the voice of the wind?

Do you hear the mighty voice of God?

Be Still.  Listen.

* * * * *

It is my prayer that you will take some time to be still before the Maker of all of creation and hear the voice of God.  He is the author of peace! Be still and listen; capture the remarkable treasures of His presence in the whispers of the wind.

Joyfully Healing from the Inside Out,
